BE THE FIRST TO KNOW!

Editors' Note
What do the holidays mean to you?

For many of us it is the time we spend with family, friends and loved ones. Christmas is the most celebrated day in North America. The holidays bring a plethora of business to all markets - retail, marketing and advertising. It is also the time that people donate to charities.

Corporations such as the United Way make record-breaking sales that help fund the majority of their next year’s work. Is this enough? Definitely not. In Toronto alone approximately 25,000 people are homeless, and that number is growing. As the average age of our population increases, how will our infrastructure be affected? Will CPP be enough? Can the healthcare system take the additional strain? These are important questions that we need to address as an aging Canadian society.

Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Quanza or Festivus, make a meaningful resolution for the New Year: Be a fan of humanity.
